📋Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how GORAE LABS (“Becoming Crypto Whale”, “we”, “us”, “our”) processes information when you use our services (collectively, the “Services”).

The Services include the website https://www.becomingcryptowhale.com (the "Website") and the Whale Platform mobile applications on iOS/Android, including Whale Journal, Whale Tools, and Whale Academy (collectively, the "Apps"), as well as related tools and features we provide.

This policy does not cover third-party services you may access through links (such as exchanges). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Information you provide

  • Contact information (e.g., email), account profile metadata, and authentication identifiers if you contact us or sign in

  • Notification preferences, reminder schedules, and device push tokens (where enabled)
  • Subscription, billing, restore-purchase, and entitlement status needed to provide paid access
  • Device registration, sync metadata, and conflict-resolution metadata for optional account/cloud features
  • App settings/preferences (e.g., language, currency, timezone, theme)

📱Mobile App Permissions

Our mobile apps request the following permissions or device capabilities based on actual and optional functionality you choose to enable:

Whale Journal

  • Photo Library (image_picker): To select and attach trade screenshots from your gallery to journal entries
  • Notifications (local / remote): To deliver review reminders, billing or account notices, and operational alerts when enabled
  • Local Storage (Drift/SQLite): To store your trading data, settings, and related app state securely on your device
  • Network Access: To check for app updates from journal.becomingcryptowhale.com, load ads (where enabled), sync data when enabled, validate account/subscription access, and register devices for notification and secure app services

Whale Tools

  • Notifications (local / remote): To deliver billing, restore, or product notices when enabled
  • Local Storage: To store presets, recent calculations, and app preferences on your device
  • Network Access: To check for app updates from tools.becomingcryptowhale.com, load ads (where enabled), and validate subscription/access state

Whale Academy

  • Notifications (local / remote): To deliver study/review reminders and operational notices when enabled
  • Local Storage (Drift/SQLite): To store learning progress, review history, and related app state securely on your device
  • Tracking / advertising identifiers (IDFA / Advertising ID, where available): To show and measure ads, including personalized ads only where you consent or where allowed by law/platform policy
  • Network Access: To check for app updates from academy.becomingcryptowhale.com, load and measure ads (where enabled), send crash/performance diagnostics, validate account/subscription access, and register devices for notification services

You can manage these permissions in your device settings at any time. Apps function offline where possible. Network access is used for update checks, advertising (including loading and measuring ads, where enabled), subscription/account validation, push delivery, and optional cloud sync (Whale Journal only). If you enable them, limited summaries may appear on widgets, Live Activities, lock screen surfaces, Apple Watch, or Wear OS. Where required by law or platform policy, we request your permission/consent before using advertising identifiers for personalized ads (e.g., App Tracking Transparency on iOS).

💾Local Data Storage

Whale Journal

Whale Journal is local-first by default. The app stores your trading journal data locally on your device using secure database technology. This data remains on your device unless you explicitly enable cloud synchronization, account features, or external exports/backups.

Local data includes trade entries, notes/rules, attached images (stored in the app's private storage), notification preferences, widget/live activity/watch summaries, and app settings. Limited summaries may also be copied to OS-provided system surfaces under your control.

Depending on your device settings, app data may be included in OS-level device backups (e.g., iCloud or Google device backup).

Whale Tools

Whale Tools stores app settings, calculator presets, recent calculations, and similar workflow state locally on your device.

Calculations run locally. If you choose to save presets, recent results, or restore paid access, related metadata may be stored locally and may be checked against our services or the app store provider.

Depending on your device settings, app data may be included in OS-level device backups (e.g., iCloud or Google device backup).

Whale Academy

Whale Academy stores learning progress, review history, deck/card identifiers, reminder preferences, and app settings locally on your device using Drift/SQLite and platform storage.

Review sessions and learning progress are processed locally by default. If you sign in, restore paid access, enable notifications, or use features that require network services, limited account, entitlement, device, diagnostics, advertising-consent, and push metadata may be processed by our service providers.

Depending on your device settings, app data may be included in OS-level device backups (e.g., iCloud or Google device backup).

🎯How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and operate the Services (core functionality, support, paid access, and advertising where enabled)
  • Deliver reminders, notifications, widgets, and companion-device experiences you enable

  • Process optional features you enable (accounts, cloud sync, subscriptions, exports)
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Provide Whale Academy learning flows, review reminders, progress tracking, in-app advertising where enabled, and diagnostics needed to keep the app reliable

Data Retention

Retention depends on the feature and data type. We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

  • App local data: Remains on your device until you delete it (e.g., by deleting the app or using in-app deletion/export controls where available)
  • Push tokens, device registrations, and notification preference records: Retained until you disable notifications, sign out, or stale registrations are removed
  • Website logs/monitoring/analytics: Retained for the period configured by the provider or needed for security and troubleshooting
  • Account, cloud, entitlement, and billing-support data (if enabled): Retained until you delete it or delete your account, subject to legal, fraud-prevention, and billing obligations
  • Support inquiries: Retained for as long as needed to respond, troubleshoot, and comply with record-keeping obligations
  • Whale Academy local learning data: Remains on your device until you delete it, delete the app, or delete your account from within the app; notification/device records are removed when no longer needed or when you delete your account, subject to legal obligations

🔐Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

🤝Third-party Sharing

Policy: We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers strictly to operate the Services (including authentication, synchronization, notifications, subscription access, diagnostics, and advertising where enabled), subject to confidentiality obligations. We do not share your journal content, Academy learning progress, or saved calculator data for third-party advertising purposes; however, we may share device identifiers, consent status, and ad interaction data with advertising partners to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where you consent.

Our App may use advertising identifiers (IDFA/Advertising ID) and similar technologies via advertising SDKs to show and measure ads (including personalized ads where you consent).

  • Improve service performance and reliability (e.g., error monitoring)

👤Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your information, or to object to certain processing.

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your personal data
  • Export your data (portability)
  • Object to or restrict certain processing (where applicable)
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (EU/UK, where applicable)

🗑️Account & Data Deletion

You can delete your account directly within the app.

In-App Deletion

  1. Open the app and navigate to the Profile tab
  2. Select Account Management
  3. Tap Delete Account
  4. Complete email verification and type DELETE to confirm

Data Deleted

  • Account and profile information
  • Account-linked cloud/sync records, device registrations, notification settings, and entitlement records
  • Whale Journal trade history and related account-linked data, where cloud/account features are enabled
  • Whale Tools saved calculator data and related account-linked data, where account features are enabled
  • Whale Academy learning progress and related account-linked data, where account features are enabled
  • Local data stored by the app where account deletion is initiated, including Drift data, reminders, surface state, and app preferences

Some data may be retained for the period required by applicable law, billing support, security, or fraud prevention. If you request deletion by email instead of using the in-app flow, local data on devices you still possess may remain until you delete the app or use in-app deletion.

You may also request deletion by email: contact@becomingcryptowhale.com
